House Identity
Manta ray is the biggest ray in the world. It is the best house. Yes, we are from Manta Ray House. Manta ray is one of the houses in SMAN South Sumatra. We are consisting of nine people. Each of us has different characteristics. It makes us learn more how to care, understand, love, keep, and respect each other.
Harmoniously with our name, many of Manta Ray attitudes are inspire us to be the best. There are 3 main characters of manta ray that inspire us. Firstly, Manta ray cleans the stations frequently, where small fish such as wrasse, and angelfish swim in the manta's gills and over its skin to feed. Secondly, Manta ray displays curiosity around humans, and swim among divers, they often come up to the water surface near boats with stopped engines. Thirdly, Mantas breach the surface and launch into the air, and the most amazing thing from Mantas, they can swim 7 miles per hour.
Those three characters make us like to share each other. Although we are unique and different, the spirit to care to others will not disappear from us. By caring to others, having a good integrity and good teamwork, we have proven we can be the best house.
As the student, we also have a big spirit to always maintain our quality in academic. As the fact, most of our members are the part of School Olympiad teams such as Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Economics, and Informatics. Apart from academic, manta ray members have shown their talents in non academic activity, such as; athletics, Choir, and Language competitions where the members of manta ray become the winner.
